Emotional Communication and Children:
A Parent Workshop
Children need the opportunity to understand and explore the full range of human emotion. As parents, the task of satisfying a child’s emotional needs can feel monumental. A parent may agree that emotional development is both relevant and important, but the parent may not know how to ensure that their child develops with a healthy range of emotional expression.
It is common to have questions such as:
What if I am not an emotional person?
How do I respond when my child is having a tantrum?
What if I have “emotional baggage”?
Should I share my worries and emotions with my child?
The answers to all of these questions are varied, but the first step is very clear: Become an Emotion Coach!
Becoming an Emotion Coach will help your child:
• Perform better in school
• Have fewer negative emotions
• Have fewer infectious illnesses like cold and flu
• Have an increased ability to recover from stress
Parents will learn:
• How to recognize emotions in their children
• To examine their own parenting style
• The 5 steps for Emotion Coaching
• To understand how relationship satisfaction impacts parenting
